Will I be sore after the massage?

An ideal Thai massage does not result in soreness. The important thing to note is that the client is in charge of the message and is encouraged to give feedback during and after the treatment. Since clients’ bodies and needs are varied, it is sometimes necessary to have several sessions to find the right touch for you.

Why is Thai massage done on the floor?

One of the most unique aspects of Thai massage is that the practitioner uses his/her entire body to work with the clients’ body. This includes feet, elbows, knees, forearms and even chin. This allows for longevity of the practitioner and more diversity in the movements experienced by the client.

Why are clothes worn when receiving a Thai massage?

Thai culture is initially very modest, and tradition is part of the reason for clothes. Oils are not used in classical Thai massage so removal of the clothing is not necessary.

Though some techniques may bring a level of intensity into the session, those techniques are usually reserved for special cases an the overall is a pleasant one.
